Speakers were Jeff Schultz, founder and former owner of Alaska Stock, and Michael DeYoung, a top contributor to Alaska Stock. Both have spent many hours over the past 35 years discussing what makes an impactful and/or sellable image, and both are longtime ASONP members.

Jeff and Michael featured some of their favorite and most successful wildlife and outdoor photos spanning more than three decades. In this interactive, audience participation presentation, people heard previously unshared stories about the making of successful images in an educational and humorous manner. This included open and honest talk about logistics, lighting, pre-visualization, and problem solving, as well as stupid luck that sometimes resulted in good images, plus “ideas that went bad” and what it took to save a bad situation and walk away with a decent image.

Audience members were HIGHLY ENCOURAGED to arrive with specific questions about creativity and/or technique on how to improve their photography. This was a chance to gain valuable insights from Jeff and Michael in their sharing of successful images.
